課程概述

Microbial oceanography explores microbial life in the oceans, their quantitative distributions, metabolic processes over time and space, and their interactions with each other and their marine environment. This course will cover the basics of biological, chemical, and physical dynamics in the oceans, with a particular emphasis on microbial food webs and their roles in chemical cycling.

課程目標
Through reading assigned materials, attending lectures, and participating in group discussions, students will be able to
1. Become familiar with the diversity, ecology, and biogeochemical roles of Bacteria, Archaea, Eukaryotes, and viruses in the marine environment.
2. Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
3. Think logically, analytically, and independently.
