課程概述 |
This lecture aims to the interdisciplinary research students. The students will get the insight of the bridge between climate science and earth system.
1. Learn the knowledge of ENSO and PMM
2. Have knowledge on the climate variability on earth system
3. Practice to apply the one topic on ENSO and PMM variability |
課程目標 |
Understand what is the difference between climate variability and climate change. The main goal here focuses on impact of climate variability on earth system, such as heatwave, chlorophyll, aerosol, wildfire, drought or fishing effort. The first part of this courses begins from El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Pacific meridional mode (PMM).
ENSO is the dominant mode of interannual climate variability on the planet, with far-reaching global impacts. Pacific Meridional Mode (PMM) is a climate mode in the North Pacific. Together ENSO and PMM can well understand the interannual variability signal from east Pacific Ocean. |

Proficient with computer language on data analysis, such as python, R, matlab or NCL. |
