Course Description |
The course will outline the East Asian region’s political, economic, social, and cultural development. Accordingly, the course is divided into four sections exploring these four aspects respectively. Each speaker will focus on one of the aforementioned aspects. Relevant readings are assigned for class discussion. Students are required to actively participate in the discussion. |
Course Objective |
This is an introductory course. The purpose of this course is to provide background knowledge to students who are interested in pursuing the East Asian concentration. To facilitate this goal, the course will invite speakers from various disciplines of social sciences and humanities to explore the geographical, political, economic, social, and cultural dimensions of the East Asian region. |
