課程概述	課程的內容著重於解釋與探討國際關係中武力運用的問題，亦即探討武力之威脅與運用的手段與目的，以及分析戰爭的成因、準備與執行，並研究如何預防之，以促使學生對安全與戰略問題有一全面性的認識。
課程目標	國家安全問題是國內目前備受關切的議題，亦是國內學界日益重視的一研究領域。本課程之目的在對國際關係學中的安全與戰略研究領域，為學生做一全面的介紹，期使學生對此領域的重要理論及文獻有一基本的認識，以利日後有意鑽研於此領域的學生，發掘出自己有興趣的課題並進一步深入探討之。
課程要求	1. 上課出席與參與討論 10% 2. 學期報告 20% 書面報告6/11前繳交。書面報告可以有二種方式：第一種：為就老師所定題目寫一千五百字以下報告，此乃評論性文章 (像報紙社論般)，不須依循學術格式；第二種：自行找一專題，撰寫三千至五千字的學術論文，須依循學術格式。 3. 期末考 70%
