課程概述 |
This course covers various aspects of macroeconomic analysis: a critical evaluation and systematic application of the basic analytical concepts of Macroeconomics theory, so as to understand how the macro economy operates. |
|
課程目標 |
Topics include the measurements of economic performance (eg. GDP, CPI…); determinants of economic production and growth, saving and investment, and unemployment; the definition of money and inflation; policy implications (fiscal v.s. monetary policies) and the analysis of the open economy. |
|
課程要求 |
I will introduce the variable/data used to measure economic performance and then will focus on developing the macroeconomic model to explain the phenomenon we observe. A modest objective is for students to be able to read and comprehend daily economic reports in the news. With the final objective of understanding what brought about this event, the nature of the problem, how it will develop and what it is leading to. |
