This is the introductory class for the principles of microeconomcis. It serves as an introduction of economics to an audience that are not familiar with Calculus. (Those who have took Calculus should consider taking microeconomics instead if the wish.) One interesting feature of this class is there will be various classroom experiments throughout the semester, and students are expected to participate actively in them. |

課程目標 |
The Goal of this class is to introduce how economists think (without the math required for microeconomics), and, help you think like an economist!
Specifically, we will see how economists observe real world phenomenon, build simplified models of reality, derive theories to provide policy advice, and test implications with empirical or experimental data. |

課程要求 |
1.Classroom Experiment Participation (10%): Classroom experiments are conducted throughout the semester. By participating, you can earn up to 10% of your grade, plus some extra credit (useful if you are at border line scores such 59, 69 or 79).
2.Midterm Quiz (30%): 11/14, 9:10am-12:00pm in class. Any request of absence must be submitted in writing before 11/14 9:00am except for medical emergencies.
3.Final Exam (60%): Cumulative, but with emphasis on material covered in the second half. Any request of absence must be filed according to university rules.
4.Grades: Classroom participation 10%, midterm 30%, and final 60%. In the case that you do better in the finals than in the midterm, your final will count as 90%. |
