課程概述 |
In the second semester of this course, we will study a variety of issues about economic development. Especially, we will focus on the studies of agricultural transformation, rural development, financial development, international trade and fiscal policy for development. |
|
課程目標 |
As more than half the people in LDCs still live in rural areas, how can agricultural and rural development best be promoted? How does globalization affect the developing countries? Should LDC governments adopt a policy of foreign-exchange control, raise tariffs, or set quotas on the importation of certain goods in order to promote their own industrialization? What is the role of financial and fiscal policy in stimulating development? We will discuss these important questions in details in the class. |
