課程目標 |
This course focuses on the role of financial frictions in macroeconomic and monetary theories. We will discuss how financial frictions, either due to asymmetric information or limited commitment, affect collateral value and borrowing capacities of borrowers as well as the lending capacities of financial intermediaries. Therefore, financial frictions are able to amplify and propagate exogenous shocks to drive fluctuations of economic aggregates and asset prices (consumption, investment, output, bank credit, leverage, house prices, etc.). We will also discuss issues related to monetary policies and macro-prudential policies in mitigating business cycles as well as maintaining financial stability. |
