課程概述 |
A. 課程概述:
The course of gender-based violence ( GBV )will discuss three major issues relevant to violence against women: domestic violence, sexual assault, and others such as dating violence and sexual harassment. The course is constructed under the framework as follows:
1. Policy and law-making;
2. Values or assumptions and theories;
3. Intervention programs
4. Service delivery system

The course is directed to achieve the following objectives:
1. to understand the concept of gender-based violence
2. to know the prevalence of GBV and its comparison of international data
3. to establish the theoretical framework in understanding and analyzing the
violence against women
4. to encourage student to develop the ability of intervention program design
and program evaluation
5. to assist student to understand the risk factor of GBV and its context in
the environment
6. to help student to know the victim's sufferings and PTSD after their
encountering of violence
7. to help student to know famous model of working with survivors or victims
8. to explore the batters' treatment programs and their assumption for
implementation.
8. to evaluate the service delivery structure for helping both victims and
perpetrators in Taiwan and other countries
9. to understand the future change of policy, programs, and services of GBV
10. to understand the ethics and privacy rules of research while taking GBA
cases as samples

課程要求 |
1. Short Essays 40% :
Two essays with 3000 words are required to show your learning in certain area
such as domestic violence , sexual assault , sexual harassment , dating violence, or human trafficking after reading the assignments. Every student will have two presentations in the class in order to gain these scores.
a. 兩篇短報告，每一篇需要同學進行依三種程序來完成，第一，閱讀靜態資料，文章一篇或是書一本（依同學興趣）完成摘要報告和心得分析，並且包括對該議題的文化與社會環境下的檢視。書本或文章的選讀宜事先經過討論。第二是在課堂上做報告，報告時間約25分鐘，並請將報告的ＰＰＴ事先準備成書面資料給所有同學，前一天並且ＥＭＡＩＬ給老師。第三，找相關影片，放映時間以不超過９０分鐘為原則。
b. 兩篇報告的評分：議題選定3分，presentation 內容的完整程度和presentation 技巧，5分。最後報告的撰寫內容12分。
c. 所有資料要依時間完成並且繳交到CEIBA作業區。分為Essay1以及Essay2 分開繳交。
2. Participation and discussion 20% :
Attentive participation and discussion in the classes are required. Every student needs to prepare course for participation, raising question, giving comments and feedback.
a. 課程出席是必要，出席成績佔總分五分，若因為特殊原因無法出席，必須事先請假（Email: wanglr@ntu.edu.tw），俾利課程的進行。無故缺席一次扣總分１分。
b. 參與討論也是必要，佔總分8分，無論哪個議題或是哪個課程面向，可能是學生生活週遭觀察或是生命經驗，也可能是國家社會的相關政策或措施的疑問或是批判，甚至是對該議題相關學理的分析，希望同學多提出討論。每次課一定要多提問題或是回應，每至少發言三次。
c. 每次課請準備閱讀文章後三個問題，佔總分7分，送給老師或是給那一次課程主要報告人。之後由報告的同學彙整，老師會很樂於回答你們的問題。該次報告的同學，也請盡量回答同學的問題。
3. Final report (Independent study) 40% :
Students select a women’s issue as the topic for final paper, based on gender- based violence. The paper might provide the thoughts, discussions, reflections to the current interventions, programs and policy regarding gender-based violence in Taiwan. Students are requested to visit service delivery agencies and discuss issues with professionals in practice in order to catch the better information.
a.提出撰寫議題和構想（5分）：第八週請提出撰寫議題和構想約５００字以及撰寫進度，同時寫出所讀相關論文或是書籍（至少五個資料來源），為提這些資訊需要同學多到圖書館或上學術網站去找靈感和找相關資料，以了解撰寫資料的可取得性或是撰寫方向的適切性，並且和老師約時間討論。
b.訪問相關人士並且寫出訪問的摘要1500字（10分），以便融入總報告中。這是輔助研究報告成為有evidence-based approach報告的必要，也幫助論文發展過程中理論與實務的結合。
c. 撰寫最後完整報告6000字(25分): 分成四部份，一為問題分析，二、相關研究之討論,三、本論文的核心與實證資料的詮釋、四、研究結論與相關建議
