課程概述

本課程從西方人文學在古希臘的源頭開始，追溯其經過古羅馬的繼受而在中世紀經由文藝復興運動被人們重新認識，並藉由啓蒙運動得到深化，被以新的角度提出質疑，從而形塑出今日西方人文學的歷史過程。課程的進行以敘述與分析並重，並鼓勵同學從自我文化的立場進行批判性的反思。

課程目標

在深化學生對西方人文傳統的認識，在培養其系統性論述此一傳承的理論能力之同時，力求能對此一人文傳統能有移情式的理解，並在這個基礎上建立其對西方文化的欣賞力與批判力。

課程要求

一、本課程重在參與，學習過程與學習成果並重。
二、課程內容包含以下各項：
(一)課程演講(每周兩小時)
(二)討論參與(每周一小時，由助教帶領分組討論)
(三)課外體驗活動(採分組參加，每學期一次，時間為週六上午或下午，如不克參加該組
之課程，需另外至他組補課)
三、成績計算方式：本課程成績計算，共採計書面考試及課堂參與兩部分。
(一)書面考試：佔學期成績百分之六十。
分為期中考、期末考、期末心得報告三項，成績比重各佔總成績百分之三十，三者擇
優取兩者計算，共計百分之六十。
期中、期末考試為開書考，可攜帶參考資料或運用電腦網路協助作答，但不得與他人
討論。
期末所有修課同學需繳交三千至五千字心得報告，於期末考週前繳交。
(二)課堂參與：佔學期成績百分之四十。
本課程設有討論課，於上課結束後，由各助教帶領進行之。
評分事項包含出席率、課堂參與、提問發言、回家作業等，佔學期成績百分之四十。
四、本課程無故缺席三次者，不得參加書面考試，成績將不予計算。如需請假，請依校方規
定辦理（以避免爭議），否則將記錄缺席。
