Course Description

This course will introduce basic health care systems and discuss health policy issues and their impacts from policy perspectives. The course is structured each week by topic. The course topics cover private and public health care systems (including the health care systems in the U.S. and Taiwan), global health issues, health care reforms (such as the Affordable Care Act in the U.S.), long-term care systems, health behaviors and conditions (including smoking, drinking, and other risky health behaviors), medication, and the impact of the environment on health.
