Course Description

Periodontology
I. General outline of the course:
1. Anatomy of the periodontal tissue and related structure.
2. Epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, classification and examination of periodontal disease.
3. Treatment planning protocols, non-surgical and surgical therapy of periodontal disease.
4. Instruments used in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease.
5. Introduction of ridge reconstruction and dental implant placement.

II. Aim of the course:
1. Understanding the anatomy of periodontal tissue and related structure.
2. Understanding of pathogenesis, diagnosis, and examination of periodontal disease
3. To know how to make treatment plan and perform the therapy for patients with periodontal disease.
4. To know how to use the diagnostic and treatment tools to manage the periodontal diseased patients.
5. Understanding the complications and damage of periodontal disease, and knowing how to repair and reconstruction.
