Course Description

本課程乃基礎牙醫學應用於臨床牙醫學之重要橋樑課程,共分兩大部分。第一部分承續牙體形態學及解剖學,就口腔功能有關之牙齒咬合面形態及上下顎關係進行討論。第二部分為咀嚼系統機能障礙之討論。第一部分包含咬合型態的回顧,功能狀態之咬合,咬合觀念,咀嚼肌之肌-神經生理學,顎關節之構造與功能,口腔黏膜、顎關節、牙周組織及肌梭之向心回饋機轉。第二部分包含咀嚼功能障礙之定義、分類與診斷,口顏疼痛之機轉與形式,咬合與機能障礙的關係,心理與情緒狀況與機能障礙之關係,以及疼痛與機能障礙之治療方法,包括保守療法及第二階段療法等。本課程另有五週之實驗室課程,由取模,中心位置之取得,咬合器定位,至咬合分析,以期加深學生對咬合觀念之瞭解及分析咬合狀態之能力。

This is a basic dental course and a bridge to the clinical dentistry. It includes two main parts: A. Functional and physiological interpretation of dental and facial structures, and B. Discussion on the masticatory system’s function and functional disorders. In the first part, occlusal morphology is reviewed and functional occlusal contact status and concepts are discussed. In addition, skeletal, muscular and nervous systems of head and neck including the temporomandibular joints are discussed and related to the masticatory, verbal, swallowing, and suckling functions. In the second part, definition and clinical symptomatology of the TM disorders or orofacial pain, etiology of such disorder including dental, physical and mental distresses and treatment modalities are discussed. This course also includes 5 weeks’ laboratory course to provide students chances to watch their dental occlusion, model and bite taking and articulator setting.
