課程概述 |
In conjunction with the content of “OT for Physical Disabilities”, “OT for Psychiatric Conditions”, “OT for Pediatrics” and “Activities of Daily Living”, students are given opportunities to observe clinical pictures of patients with different diagnosis, and intervention procedures used in different situation, get acquainted with the clinical settings, modalities and professional procedures. Students will also have chance to practice evaluation skills, set the goals, write treatment plans and implement treatment techniques to patients with different diagnosis. In addition, the students will participate in problem-based learning (PBL) class with medical students for 2 sessions. All the students of the class will be divided into three groups and rotate through clinics for physical disabilities, for psychiatric population and for developmental disabilities and sensory-integrative dysfunction. |
課程目標 |
After the course finished, the students will be able to
1) administer standardized evaluations correctly in each field
2) identify patient’s chief problems based on theories and frames of reference
3) set proper goals relating to quality of life/ subjective well-being/ occupational satisfaction
4) write occupation-based treatment plans based on theories and frames of reference
5) provide the clients with graded purposeful and meaningful activities safely to remediate the clients’ specific problems in one-to-one or group situation or with compensatory techniques, such as adaptive methods, assistive devices, environmental modifications, to accomplish the goals
6) demonstrate communication skills (i.e. intervening, teaching, consulting, educating) with the clients, families & team members
