Course Description |
This course guide students to establish the doctor-patient relationship and the knowledge about the diagnosis and treatment of dental caries, application and selection of dental restorative materials. Students come the department of Esthetic Restoration should learn how to take care of patients and how to communicate with patients. In addition, they should learn the skill for treatment of dental caries including the cavity preparation, filling and polishing of dental amalgam restorations and composite resins and the principle and treatment methods for esthetic dentistry. |
Course Objective |
The purpose of this course is to guide students have good interactions with patients and have correct posture for dental treatment, understanding the diagnosis and treatment principle about dental caries and oral diseases, and the properties and applications of dental materials. Students should have knowledge and complete the cases of dental amalgam restorations and resin composites and have knowledge about the treatment principle of esthetic dentistry and the methods for communication with patients. |
Course Requirement |
Students should complete high quality treatment and case reports of dental amalgam restorations and resin composite restorations and book reading reports. Students should appear in the dental clinic on time and participate the cases conferences, journal meeting and book reading report every Monday and Tuesday. Students should obey the guide from the teachers and senior residents, have good interactions with other students, have good communications with patients and establish good clinical skill and good character of dentist. |
