Presentation |
40% |
Each student will be required to prepare a no-more-than-40-minute talk to present his/her research proposal/progress and take an active part in classroom discussions. Please make sure your presentation has a clear point that you want your audience to think at the conclusion of the presentation. Note that more information is not always better. Please 'trim' your presentation to eliminate unnecessary detail and include only the essentials. Keep your presentation simple and to the point. The individual student's presentation, graded and then averaged by the participating faculties, will count for 40% of the final grade.
Presenter's advisor is required to participate in presenter's presentation. |

The presentation-elicited responses and discussions |
5% |
The performance of the presenter to address raised questions and lead the discussions is graded and then averaged by the participating faculties. It will count for 5% of the final grade.

The individual student's overall participation |
50% |
The individual student's overall participation in classroom discussions before and after midterm will count for 25% and 25% of the final grade, respectively. |
4. |
Evaluation report |
5% |
Each student will be required to finish a single page of evaluation report on the design of the course and feedback for future adjustment. The report will count for the remaining 5% of the grade. The report is due on the last week of the course. The grade will not be submitted until the evaluation report is received. |
