課程概述 |
This course offers an in-depth exploration of the principles and applications of kinematics, focusing on the analysis of motion in mechanisms. Students will learn to describe and analyze the motion of linkages, gear trains, and cam drives, crucial components in machinery and mechanical design.
Students will achieve the following learning outcomes:
• Mobility Analysis
• Graphical and Analytical Analysis of Linkages
• Fundamental of Gears
• Kinematic Analysis of Gear Trains
• Synthesis of Cam Drives |

Students will learn the techniques to preform the motion/kinematic analysis of mechanisms. |
|
課程要求 |
Prerequisite: Calculus, Dynamics (recommended but not required)
The marking scheme may vary and will be finalized in the first lecture.
Attendance 5% (1% off for a missing onsite lecture)
Midterm Exam x 2 50% (25% each)
Final Exam 25%
Final Project 20%
In the final project, you will be asked to use a software (Matlab, Inventor, Creo, etc) to analyze the motion of a linkage-based mechanism upon your choice to acquire meaningful results. Each group contains no more than 3 people. The project requires a oral presentation and a report. |
