課程概述 |
Introduce fundamental concepts of numerical methods. |
課程目標 |
To convey the art and science of numerical computation. The emphasis will be placed on modern techniques, and the basic intent will be to impart an understanding of those methods most suitable in a given situation. |
課程要求 |
All programs will be completely written by the students themselves. Programs may be written in any standard programming languages (e.g., FORTRAN, C, Matlab, etc.). The first few assignments are relatively simple, so that a student who is totally unfamiliar with computer programming can gain the required programming ability as he/she works these problems. Although it is obviously desirable to already have the ability to program, a total lack of such ability should not stop anyone from taking the course. A small amount of CPU time on any computer should be sufficient to work all of the problems that will be assigned. |
