Passive Structural Control (I)- Spring 2013

Course Description: To introduce the basic concepts and theories of passive energy dissipation and seismic isolation for structural applications, and discuss current research, development, design and code-related activities in this field.
Objective: To make students understand the concepts and theories of passive damping and seismic isolated structures, and learn how to analyze and design of these structures.

(3) Dynamics of structures with passive energy dissipation systems (3/6, 3/13) (damping models, energy principle, effective of damping ratio)
(4) Viscoelastic dampers (3/20, 3/27)
(5) Viscous damper (Project 1 assigned) (3/27, 4/10)
(6) Seismic design of structures with passive energy dissipaters (4/17, 4/24)

介紹結構隔減震系統之重要理論、設計方法及相關設計準則與案例,作為日後更進一步研究及應用之基礎。
