課程概述 |
Pipelines are frequently used for transporting water or other fluids because they are able to bear the inner pressure and can overcome the topographic variations. People use pipelines to conduct water supply and water distribution. Pipelines are also applied in hydropower, thermal power, nuclear power, and other industrials. This course will combine the theory and practices in pipelines to evaluate the engineering features and procedures. Also, we will introduce the real engineering problems and their solutions to establish the knowledge in hydraulic designing of pipelines for students. |
課程目標 |
We will discuss the following topics in this course:
1. steady flow analysis: including the pipeline material selection, flow friction calculation, dynamic equipment properties, energy dissipation devices, and cavitation control.
2. transition flow analysis: including the transition flow theory, boundary condition settings, introduction to numerical models, and water hammer control.
3. practical cases in pipelines. |
