This course is designed to introduce undergraduate students to the environmental principles of mass and energy transfer, environmental chemistry, mathematics of growth, and risk assessment. The basic foundation is needed for environmental engineering issues associated with water, air, and land pollution, as well as for any quantitative treatment of environmental problems. Introduction to engineered systems for water and wastewater treatment and solid waste disposal is included. In additional, current topics such as air pollution, global climate change, and sustainable technologies are included.
