Win-Li Lin: Received a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona, USA, in 1990. From 1990-1992, he was a researcher at the Industrial Technology Research Institute, developing ultrasound diagnostic equipment. In 1992, he joined the faculty of The Center (Institute) of Biomedical Engineering, National Taiwan University and became a full professor in 2001. He has been interested in biomedical engineering research, particularly in the areas: a) ultrasound hyperthermia, ultrasound thermal therapy/surgery, and the development of high-power ultrasound devices for cancer therapy or other medical uses; b) acoustic biosensor for molecular recognition; c) biophysics.
