課程概述 |
本課程環境化學主要係設計給大學部學生,以瞭解化學物質於環境系統中行為之基礎知識。化學為研究物質的性質、組成、結構、以及變化的基礎自然科學;然而,環境化學為探討物質與環境交互作用下可能產生的各種化學變化,包括物質於環境中的性狀變化、傳輸與宿命。本課程將涵蓋數個重要議題,包括動力學、觸媒、電化學、錯合物、氧化還原反應、新興污染物、輔酶、生物降解、細菌生長及膠體化學等。
This course, “Environmental Chemistry”, is designed for undergraduates to understand fundamental knowledge concerning the behaviors of the chemical speciation (contaminants and/or pollutants) in the environmental systems. Chemistry is the field of fundamental science discussing the properties, compositions (speciation), structures and changes of substances; however, Environmental Chemistry focuses on the interactions between the substances and the environment by elucidating possible chemical pathways, reactions and mechanisms of substances in the environment, such as the phase changes, sources, transport, and fate. This course will cover several important topics, including kinetics, catalysis, electrochemistry, complex formation, redox reactions, emerging contaminants, enzyme, biodegradation, bacterial growth, and colloid chemistry. |
課程目標 |
本課程主要有三個目標:(1) 介紹化學物質於各種環境介質中(包括水、空氣、土壤等)之; (2) 瞭解不同環境污染物之現況、傳輸與宿命(包括來源、性質、組成改變及環境衝擊);(3) 應用綠色化學原則於環境系統管理邁向永續環境。本課程預期可提供學生應用基礎化學原理與操作模擬工具之能力,以量化描述及預測化學物質於環境系統中之變化與反應動力。
The objectives of this course are (1) to understand chemical kinetics and equilibrium principles of the processes in natural environmental and environmental engineering systems; (2) to learn the occurrence, transport and fate and chemical processes of various pollutants in the environment; (3) to apply the green chemistry principles in environmental system management towards sustainable environment. Upon completion of this course, the students will be capable of applying fundamental chemical theories and modeling tools to quantitatively describe and predict the chemical speciation and kinetics in the environmental systems.
