課程概述 |
育林學以生物學、生態學、經濟學、管理學為基礎，課程章節安排自理論而實務，依序如下：1.Introduction;2.Growth and development of forest trees;3.Environmental factors and plant adaptation;4.Dynamic and variations of forest;5.Seed production and management;6.Nursery management;7.Artificial regeneration;8.Silvicultural system and natural regeneration;9.Tending the forest stand;10.Silvicultural strategies for sustainable forest management;11.Ecological forest restoration.
Silviculture has it\'s foundation in the biologic and ecologic science, yet it also responds to economic and administrative concerns of a landowner when determining the best way to manage forested lands. The following chapters will be lectured in an academic year: 1. Introduction ;2. Growth and development of forest trees; 3. Environmental factors and plant adaptations;4. Dynamic and variations of ecosystem; 5. Seed production and management;6. Nursery mangament;7. Artificial regeneration;8. Silvicultural system and natural regeneration;9. Tending the forest stand;10. Silvicultural strategies for sustainable forest management;11. Ecological forest restoration.

課程目標 |
育林學的目標係為了建造地景架構式的健康森林，除了達成傳統的木材及特有物料之生產外，尚可築構不同生物的棲地，藉由適當的作業以維護水土資源及降低坡面土壤崩塌之危機，提供高品質之教育及遊憩機會，維護特殊的生態條件以避免物種之滅絕，以及提高紓減大氣碳 的弁遄C依此目標，課程的安排係從基礎的學理開始闡述，再延伸至適合台灣本地環境條件的實務作業，實習課程則依演講進度予以安排。
Silviculture deals with processes for maintaining or restoring the health forest in the landscape scale to produce wood and other associated bio-materials; to manage wildlife habitat; to manage watersheds for improving water quality and for proving soil against erosion and landslide; to provide education and recreation opportunities; and to main a particular ecological condition for threatened and endangered plants and animals. |
