課程概述

The contents of this course include:
1. Problem and issues of soil contamination in Taiwan;
2. Sampling methods and tools of contaminated soils;
3. Principles and case studies of General statistics and Geostatistics;
4. Establishment of regulation and target of soil remediation;
5. General remediation techniques for soil and groundwater pollution;
6. Factors and procedures to evaluate the potential soil remediation techniques;
7. Case studies and analyses of physical remediation techniques for contaminated soils;
8. Case studies and analyses of chemical remediation techniques for contaminated soils;
9. Case studies and analyses of bioremediation and phytoremediation techniques for contaminated soils;
10. Problems and analyses for rural and petroleum contaminated sites in Taiwan;
11. Guidelines of projects proposal and case studies of control sites and remediation sites;
12. Model of health risk assessment for remediation sites;
13. Analyses of health risk assessment for remediation sites; and
14. Revision of Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act. 

課程目標
The objectives of this courses are to learn how to make a soil survey in the contaminated soils, how to make an evaluation of a contaminated site, How to use a good soil physical, chemical and biological remediation techniques to clean up the contaminated sites. This course also provides many case studies for discussion. 
課程要求
There are some basic concepts on soil science.
