課程概述 |
Horticultural Techniques I is the first section of Horticultural Techniques Series (I and II), an integral course of skill learning and practical training on professional gardening, orchard management, and basic laboratory operation. This course is one of the course requirements for all sophomores in Horticulture major. Essential horticultural skills and techniques will be introduced to course participants through various gardening and field projects. |
課程目標 |
The design of this course concentrates on three group projects: The VEGE Garden Project, the Greenhouse Project, and the HORT Plaza project, and one personal project: the Orchard Project, Course participants will practice skills and techniques learned from the class meeting section and self library searching activities in these projects and other scheduled experiments and test trials. The objective of this course is therefore, to ensure that students gain knowledge and experience in horticulture activity through self learning and team work. |
課程要求 |
Course participants should be at least sophomores in Horticulture major and should have enrolled in introductory levels of horticultural courses, e.g. Horticulture Principles, vegetable science, floriculture, or pomology. For students from other discipline areas a discussion with me prior enrollment is recommended. |
