課程概述 |
Although the title starts with Theory, this course will spend no less than a third of the semester also focusing on the application and issues in the field of Consumption Economics. This course is composed of both lecture and seminar: Students are also expected to be engaged in class discussion, presentation, and essay writing. Topics include, while not limited to, choice and preference, household production theory, consumer behavior, response of consumption to uncertainty and/or risks, and welfare analysis. Historical and contemporary issues in the agricultural and food marketplace will be discussed. |

Objective 1: Students are expected to gain a solid understanding of the economic theory and concept in consumption arena and consumer behavior.
Objective 2: Interpret contemporary issues though theoretical and empirical lens.
Objective 3: Critically reflect and examine the role of consumption in agricultural market, food industry, and supply chain, by applying and reviewing relevant economic tools and methods. |
