課程概述 |
This course meets in 學新館 Room 609 (https://bit.ly/3dDXkFC) on Mondays (15:30 to 17:20).
This is a special topic course, and thus the topic varies semester to semester. This semester (109-2), we will study models that are used to study selected topics of insect ecology. Specific topics that will be covered in the course will be decided in the first meeting by considering the interests of enrolled students.
Models dealt in the course are not statistical models. Students who are interested in statistical modelling (e.g., data analysis) may consider taking ENT5053 instead. However, depending on the need and interests of students, some statistical topics may also be discussed in the course.
To understand/study models, we may try to reproduce models in published studies. Any required skills (e.g., computer programming) will be taught in the course. No previous experience with modelling, computer programming, or mathematical analysis is needed. |
