Rules and regulations for General Seminar
Please email your title and two research papers before February 15, 2019, to me (ariyawansa44@ntu.edu.tw).
Please submit your abstract to the CEIBA, one-week in advance to the presentation day.
Please discuss with your supervisor and confirm the abstract, title and the two research papers before the submission.
Please email your abstract and two main references to all the classmates and teachers one-week in advance to the presentation day
Printout at least 40 hard copies of your abstract and distribute among the classmates and teachers before the presentation start.
The seminar course will be started on March 07, 2019.
Present two original research articles, which have been published after 2012 (The Impact factor of the Journal should be minimum 2).
Please submit your presentation report within three weeks, after the presentation. The presentation report should include the title, abstract, the questions being asked after the presentation and your answers to the questions.
Please submit your Final reports at the end of the semester, on June 14.
Important: The final report should include five reports for this semester’s seminar course presentation from your fellow classmates. Each report should contain notes and reflection of the chosen talk, be concise and no more than 500 words. In addition, the final reports should include the questions you asked throughout the semester.
The format for Abstract as follows;
1. Times New Roman.
2. Title: size 16 pt, bold, centre.
3. The margins should set at 1” on all sides.
4. Your name and the supervisor’s name: size 14 pt, bold, centre.
5. Titles of the abstract and references: size 14 pt, bold, centre
6. Keywords: size 13 pt, standard, align to left
7. Content and list of references: size 13 pt, standard, justify
8. Please, follow the format of “Phytopathology” for references (mark the key references in bold)
Important: 5 points will be deducted from the final score for formatting errors.
Evaluation
Your grading will be evaluated as follows;
1. Abstract: 10%
2. Overall presentation (preparation, interaction with the audience and presentation skills): 35%
3. Presentation report: 20%
4. Participation for Q & A and attendance: 15%
5. Final report: 20%
The time duration for presentation as follows;
Minimum: 30 minutes; Maximum 40 minutes; Q&A: 10 minutes
(Any violation of the rules will subject you to fail the course)
Attendance will be evaluated strictly; therefore, any violation of the following rules will subject you to fail the course
1. Missed out the class for more than 3 weeks.
2. Late arrivals (later than 10 minutes) will be considered as absence for the class.
3. In case of emergency or any acceptable reason for absence, please inform the teacher and apply the leave of absences via CEIBA within 24 hours.
