課程目標 |
Course description: This graduate course aims to introduce basic epigenetic concepts and research techniques available to address epigenetic questions in mammals as well as other organisms. Students are expected to develop the ability to critically evaluating and interpreting published research articles. They will also learn to extract information from international conferences by listening to experts of each field introducing their research (as in the CD-ROM). |
課程要求 |
Having either Molecular Biology or Genetics background. We expect the students to be familiar with basic knowledge of transcription (from DNA to RNA), translation (from mRNA to protein), post-transcriptional regulation (RNA stability control, availability of the mRNAs to be translational control), as well as the cis-acting (specific DNA sequences like promoters, enhancers,...) and trans-acting factors (usually proteins, including transcription factors, activators, etc). |
