課程概述

Scope of this course:
Knowledge in Environmental Microbiology and overview of essential environmental issues, such as
1.Pollution: Pollution of air, water and soil, such as heavy metals, oil spill, toxins, industrial waste
2.Climate Change: Greenhouse gases, rise in sea levels, desertification
3.Waste Disposal: Plastic, radioactive waste disposal
4.Public Health Issues
5. Energy, etc

*During semester, we will go on field trip to visit at least one environmental facility, such as landfill, refuse Incinerat or plant or sewage treatment, etc.

 The goal of this course is to let students acquire up-to-date knowledge on microbial solutions for environmental problems, including bioremedation, biodegradation, biotransformation, and biogeochemistry.
