Cost and Managerial Accounting is a full-year course and selected topics will be covered in two semesters. Over this course, we will be familiar with cost accounting information systems and learn how to utilize the information as decision-makers inside an organization. The competent managers are often equipped with the abilities to identify the relevant information, use the appropriate method for information analysis, and communicate their observations and recommendations to others in the organization. Since many concepts in managerial accounting are built from the concept of the cost, the course starts with product costing system and then focuses on the use of information in planning and control and on other important topics in managerial accounting.
