In this course we hope to offer a good understanding of financial markets, with an emphasis on money and banking. The determination of short and long term interest rates and exchange rates will be examined at length. The institutional structure of central banking will also be discussed. The primary objective of this course is to help students obtain a better understanding of important financial issues facing private citizens and policy-makers both here in Taiwan and abroad.
