課程概述 |
Course Description:
This course is designed to help students acquire basic knowledge of the Japanese business. We will study the Japanese economy and the basic characteristics of the Japanese industrial and business organizations, such as the relationship between large enterprises and small and medium enterprises, business groups, and labor market. This course will introduce various Japanese companies to study the industrial structures and the mechanism of their performance. In addition, Japanese business models, such as the ‘lean production system’ of Toyota Motor Corporation and the ‘ameba management’ of Kyocera Corporation will be introduced. |

Course Objectives:
This course intends to provide students an understanding of the following:
(1) transition of the Japanese economy,
(2) characteristics of the Japanese industrial and business organizations,
(3) Japanese business models, and
(4) present Japanese companies. |
課程要求 |
Course Pre-requirements:
Credits of Introductory Financial Accounting, and knowledge of how to conduct financial statement analysis are course pre-requirements.
Course Requirements and Announcements:
The dates of the midterm examination (11/11) and the final examination (1/13) will not be changed for students’ reasons.
To qualify to take the final examination, at least 70% attendance is needed.
No make-up assignments and examinations will be provided in this course.
All students in this course are required to give a group presentation. If you do not give a presentation, you will receive a letter grade ‘X’ (Not graded) as a semester grade automatically.
