Real Estate Investment |
課程目標 |
To give students a broad background in the principles and techniques of real estate development, real estate investment decision and financial analysis. Some specific topics covered include real estate development process, homeownership investment decision, market and location analysis, feasibility analysis, alternative mortgage instrument analysis including mortgage pricing, mortgage choice mortgage securitization, commercial real estate investment analysis, federal income effects on real estate investment decision, and valuation of real estate. |

Grade Evaluation: Each student will be evaluated according to the criteria shown below. Final grades are based on total points scored in the course. No make-up exam except in special circumstance.

1. Required Textbook: James D. Shilling (S), Real Estate, and 13th Edition.
2. Lecture Outlines: Outlines of class lectures are available on the website. It is strongly recommended that you read these lecture outlines and use them to structure your own notes. Note, however, that the lecture outlines are not substitutes for class attendance and the textbook. Please read the relevant chapters of the textbook before each class and attend class regularly.
Three group projects will be assigned. I expect each group member to participate fully in each project. Please treat these projects as professional assignments, similar to those you will submit to your boss at work. These projects will be graded and form part of your overall course grade. |
