課程概述	2017 fall公共衛生:觀點與展望之課程概述本課程包括四部分: (一) 邀請相關領域教師至課堂進行演講，其內容涵蓋以下基礎公共衛生主題： 1. Core functions and essential services of public health 2. Globalization and global burden of diseases 3. Public health history, philosophy, and values 4. Prevention science in population health 5. Biological and genetic factors and population health 6. Quantitative methods and sciences in public health 7. Evidence-based public health 8. Environmental factors and population health 9. Major causes and trends of morbidity and mortality in Taiwan 10. Behavioral and psychological factors and population health (including qualitative methods in assessment) 11. Social, political and economic determinants of population health and health inequities 12. Ecological system and health: Planet Health (二)二個假日工作坊，分別是：（1）　議題設定與文獻回顧；（2）投影片與壁報製作要領。 (三) 三場由國內外專家學者所進行之公衛論壇。 (四)期未海報發表。
課程目標	協助公共衛生學院之研究生具備下列CEPH所列公共衛生核心能力。 Profession & Science of Public Health 1. Explain public health history, philosophy and values 2. Identify the core functions of public health and the 10 Essential Services listed by US CDC 3. Explain the role of quantitative methods and sciences in describing and assessing a population’s health 4. List major causes and trends of morbidity and mortality in Taiwan 5. Discuss the science of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in population health, including health promotion, screening, etc. 6. Explain the critical importance of evidence in advancing public health knowledge Factors Related to Human Health 7. Explain effects of environmental factors on a population’s health 8. Explain biological and genetic factors that affect a population’s health 9. Explain behavioral and psychological factors that affect a population’s health, as well as the role of quantitative methods and sciences in describing and assessing a population’s health 10. Explain the social, political and economic determinants of health and how they contribute to population health and health inequities 11. Explain how globalization affects global burdens of disease 12. Explain an ecological perspective on the connections among human health, animal health and ecosystem health (e.g., One Health)
課程要求	1. 每堂課簽到，缺課4次（含）以上，給予「不及格」。 2. 專題海報: 由助教依照領域背景將同學分組，各組需提交欲報告主題之志願(1~3) -每組4~5人，每組至少會有3種不同領域背景的組員 -期中: 各組代表報告主題構想，並由他人給與意見。各小組預先將內容轉交給負責評論的組別，由該組進行報告並給予評論(2張投影片：1張主題介紹、1張評論內容) -期末: 各小組共同製作1張海報，提前張貼一星期後則進行海報發表會，邀請全院師生共同評分 (當天提供餐點) -不需另外繳交紙本報告，只需上傳海報電子檔 3. 參加二個週末全天的工作坊, 並依工作坊設計完成相關練習或作業 4. 個人作業:依個別授課教師有無提供而定 5. 課程心得意見:由同學繳交個人期末學習心得感想 -個人繳交，2頁，上傳至Ceiba
