本學期為實體上課，請同學們每週準時出席。

本課程包括以下四個部分：

一、邀請相關領域教師預錄演講內容，其內容涵蓋以下基礎公共衛生主題：
1. Core functions and essential services of public health
2. Globalization and global burden of diseases
3. Public health history, philosophy, and values
4.New Development of Evidence-based Medicine in the Era of Artificial Intelligence
5.Biological and genetic factors and population health
6.Quantitative methods and sciences in public health
7.Evidence-based public health
8.Environmental factors and population health
9.Major causes and trends of morbidity and mortality in Taiwan
10.Behavioral and psychological factors and population health (including qualitative methods in assessment)
11.Social, political and economic determinants of population health and health inequities
12.Ecological system and health: Planet Health

二、數位線上課程：強化學生公共衛生核心知識。

三、公衛論壇：邀請國內外專家學者針對最新公共衛生議題進行演講。

協助公共衛生學院之研究生具備下列CEPH所列公共衛生核心能力。
Profession & Science of Public Health
1. Explain public health history, philosophy and values (D1-1-1)
2. Identify the core functions of public health and the 10 Essential Services listed by US CDC (D1-1-2)
3. Explain the role of quantitative methods and sciences in describing and assessing a population’s health
(D1-1-3a)
4. List major causes and trends of morbidity and mortality in Taiwan (D1-1-4)
5. Discuss the science of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in population health, including health
promotion, screening, etc. (D1-1-5)
6. Explain the critical importance of evidence in advancing public health knowledge (D1-1-6)

Factors Related to Human Health
7. Explain effects of environmental factors on a population’s health (D1-1-7)
8. Explain biological and genetic factors that affect a population’s health (D1-1-8)
9. Explain behavioral and psychological factors that affect a population’s health, as well as the role of quantitative
methods and sciences in describing and assessing a population’s health (D1-1-9 & D1-1-3b)
10. Explain the social, political and economic determinants of health and how they contribute to population health
and health inequities (D1-1-10)
11. Explain how globalization affects global burdens of disease (D1-1-11)
12. Explain an ecological perspective on the connections among human health, animal health and ecosystem
health (e.g., One Health) (D1-1-12)
