課程概述

健康行為與社區科學專題討論一之設計，係於碩士班同學修習過研究法課程後，訓練同學尋找與整合文獻之能力，並且培養研究批判之能力，經由課堂中的報告、評論與討論，協助同學探索研究興趣，並選定未來研究主題。
Intended for master’s students who have completed the course in research methods in social and behavioral sciences, this course is designed to equip students with the abilities to conduct a literature review and synthesize empirical evidence. Students will hone their skills of critical appraisal through presentations, comments, and discussions in class. This course will provide students with opportunities to search for their research interests and identify a potential topic for their thesis research. 

課程目標
 本課程結束後，學生應能具備以下能力：
1. 能確認影響個人與群體健康之重要社會行為與社區因素 (HBCS-A)
2. 能敘述在公共衛生研究與實務中所運用的不同社會與行為科學基本理論、概念與模式 (HBCS-B)
3. 能從社會行為科學的觀點分析國內外健康與環境議題(HBCS-E)
4. 尋找、整合與批判文獻。
5. 口頭發表、提出質詢與回應問題。
6. 撰寫文獻回顧報告。
After completing this course, students will be able to:
1. Identify the key socio-behavioral and community factors that affect the health of individuals and populations (HBCS-A)
2. Describe the basic theories, concepts, and models from a range of social and behavioral disciplines that are used in public health research and practice (HBCS-B)
3. Analyze domestic and international issues about health and environment from a socio-behavioral perspective (HBCS-E)
4. Search for, synthesize, and critically appraise the literature
5. Give oral presentations, make comments, and respond to question
6. Prepare a report summarizing and commenting on the literature reviewed. 
課程要求
 一、文獻報告與評論：由學生自選主題、尋找文獻、閱讀整理，於課堂中提出口頭報告 20 分鐘，並由另一名學生作簡要講評 8 分鐘，之後開放全體師生共同討論約 15 分鐘。每位同學應報告 2 次，每次可報一篇文獻，亦可綜合多篇文獻作主題報告。第 2 次報告需用英文報告（主持與評論不需用英文）。
二、文獻主題須與「健康行為、社區與社會科學」領域有關。報告者應於報告前一週的週五晚上 11:59PM 之前，提供一篇文獻，以電子檔方式傳送給全體師生（之後由助教協助上傳到 NTUCOOL），並且將報告 PPT 初稿寄給評論同學，以利增進課堂上討論的深度。報告者應於週三上課前，將最終報告 PPT 檔案寄給上課老師與助教。
三、主持人：每週由一名同學擔任主持人，主持人需負責計時與掌控流程。
四、文獻回顧期末書面報告：
(1) 綜合整理本學期閱讀的文獻回顧，提出你對這些文獻的評論，以及針對師生提問之回應。
(2) 簡述如何應用上述文獻作為未來研究主題之背景知識(例如說明此篇論文的研究結果的意義可以如何引用，或方法及分析策略
可以如何參考)
(3) 期末報告以單行行距 3-4 頁為原則。
(4) 於學期結束 2022 年 6 月 10 日 (週五) 晚上 11:59 前，每位同學須將文獻回顧期末書面報告上傳至 NTUCOOL 課程作業區。

1. Literature review and comment: students need to identify the literature of interest and give a 20-min oral presentation summarizing and criticizing the literature identified. Each presentation will be followed by a 5-min feedback from another student and 15-min whole class discussion. Each student needs to give three oral presentations.
2. The literature reviewed should be related to the areas of health behaviors, community, or social sciences. The presenter should email a soft copy of the literature to all the instructors and students by Friday in the week before the class.
3. Moderator: Students will take turns serving as the moderator of the seminar in each week. The moderator is responsible for holding participants to time limits and facilitating the discussions.
4. Final literature review report: in the report, students need to summarize the literature reviewed in this course and respond to feedback from other students and the instructors. The students should also explain how the literature reviewed will inform their future research projects, such as identifying the knowledge gap or providing guides for analytical approaches. The report should be 3-4 pages (single space) and uploaded to the NTUCOOL before 11:59pm Friday 10th June 2022.
