課程概述

INTRODUCE THE THEORETICAL FUNDAMENTALS WHICH INCLUDES FUNDAMENTAL OPTICS, LASER, DETECTOR AND OTHER OPTOELECTRONIC COMPONMENTS ETC. AND EXPLAIN BRIEFLY THE IMPORTANT CONCEPTS ABOUT EACH TOPIC. THE OUTLINES ARE LISTED BELOW:
1. CHARACTERISTICS OF LIGHT AND LIGHT-MATTER INTERACTIONS:
RAY OPTICS, IMAGE PRINCIPLE, WAVE OPTICS, INTERFENCES, POLARIZATION, DISPERSION, COHERENCE AND NONLINEARITY ETC.
2. FOURIER OPTICS AND IMAGING ANALYSIS
FOURIER OPTICS, DIFFRACTION, IMAGING ANALYSIS AND HOLOGRAPHY ETC.
3. LASER SOURCES AND GENERAL OPTICAL DETECTIONS
LIGHT-EMITTING DIODE, SEMICONDUCTOR LASER, LIGHT AMPLIFIERM, OPTICAL DETECTOR, OPTICAL MODULATOR ETC.
4. APPLICATIONS OF OPTOELECTRONICS
INDUSTRY OF OPTICAL COMMUNICATION, SEMICONDUCTOR, INFORMATION, ENERGY, NANO-GREEN AND DISPLAY ETC.
 

課程目標
This class emphasize the fundamentals and practicability of optoelectronics to inspire the students in (electrical) engineering field to have more interests on optoelectronics.
