Course Description

This is a basic course on the VLSI physical design automation, taught in English.  

Course Objective
Major topics covered in this course are:
1. Introduction to VLSI Physical Design Automation.
2. Data Structures and Basic Algorithms.
3. Physical Synthesis
4. Partitioning and Placement.
5. Global Routing and Detailed Routing.
6. Via Minimization and Over-the-Cell Routing.
7. Physical Design Automation of FPGAs.
8. Physical Design Automation of MCM and WWW. 
Course Requirement
The course is taught partially with a Flipped Classroom style where enrolled students should dedicate their time in advance course materials reading and classroom discussion.
