課程概述 |
Recently, sensor networks, cyber physics systems, and internet of things become popular because sensing, communication, and analytics technologies become more mature. In the future, digital sensing, communication, and processing capabilities will be ubiquitously embedded into everyday objects, turning them into an Internet of Things (IoT, also known as, machine-to-machine, M2M, 智慧聯網或物聯網). Sensors everywhere can continuously collect a large quantity of data; processors everywhere can analyze and infer useful knowledge from the data; communication ratios can transmit and exchange useful knowledge with other everyday objects to serve human better. This paradigm shift, while can significant improve our life, brings up numerous challenges and opportunities to engineering. This course aims to provide a timely discussion on the technical trends and challenges of Internet of Things. |
課程目標 |
In order to deploy end-to-end solutions for intelligent/secure interaction among connected devices, IoT requires interactions from multiple disciplines, including smart services/applications, context analysis/management, M2M communications, and low-power/cost sensor designs. This course plans to encourage students from multiple disciplines to collaborate with each other and create breakthrough technologies for innovate IoT applications/services. |

Prerequisites:
(1) Students must have deep understanding in one of the following disciplines: smart services/applications, context analysis/management, M2M communications, and low-power/cost sensor designs.
(2) Students also must have interests in cross disciplines collaboration.
(3) To register for the course, students must seek the permission from the instructor. |
