課程概述 |
This course focuses on the engineering aspect of solid state lasers. A detailed discussion of the characteristics, design, and practical problem of solid state lasers will be provided. Course will cover: A simple model for laser operation, properties of solid-state laser materials, laser oscillator design, optical pump-system design, thermo-effects and heat removal. Operations of Q-switching and modelocked lasers will also be included. |

This course emphasize on the following engineering aspects of solid state lasers:
1. Interaction of light with matter
2. Properties of solid-state laser materials
3. Laser oscillator
4. Optical resonator design
5. Q-switching
6. Mode-locking

課程要求 |
This course is an advanced solid state laser engineering course. Some basic understanding on the principle of laser and the principle of optics is expected. This course is more suitable for graduate students who plan to use solid state lasers as their research tool. |
