Course Title: Secured Financing Law in the Age of Bitcoin
Date: December 10-17, 2018
Nguyen, Xuan-Thao Ngoc
This course will focus on how blockchain technology is changing the landscape of secured financing law. From Bitcoins, Ethers, to other cryptocurrency, this course will examine platforms for lending against Bitcoins and Ethers and address whether the current UCC-9 Secured Transactions law and UNCITRAL Secured Transactions model law address the collateralization of cryptocurrency. The students will learn relevant provisions of Secured Transactions law and evaluate whether revision to current law is needed.
