課程概述

The general time schedule for the master thesis research in our lab, Lab of Plant Developmental Genetic and Molecular Evolution, is as follows:
Phase I: 0‐4 months
1. 10 weeks work plan
2. 3 month Proposal finsihing
3. techniques/analytical tools
Phase II: 5‐10 months
1. 10 month/first year report
2. Preliminary data analyzed
3. Committee evaluation
Phase III: 11‐16 months
1. Finish data collecting
2. Thesis draft: Intro, M & M, Results, discussions
3. Conference oral/poster presenting
Phase IV: 16‐20 months
1. Discussion. Supplement data collecting
2. Finish thesis writing (2 months before viva)
3. Thesis defense
4. Publication 

課程目標
 The master thesis in the Institute of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, National Taiwan University, lasts at least 80 working weeks, corresponding to about 20 months (without the preparatory phase). An important aspect of doing your master thesis research is time management, especially when you combine your research with an internship or when you want to go abroad. Therefore it is necessary to draw up a good time schedule. 
課程要求
 By the end of May, students must hand in a 10 month report. The report should be no less than 3000 words either in English or Chinese. The contents of the repost must include: 1. Abstract; 2. Literature review; 3. Aims and scope of the study 4. Materials and methods. 5. Preliminary results)
Chun-Neng Wang’s lab offers the students working facilities and fundings at the University. Students must work according to "normal" working hours (8 hrs/day). Five (Six) days a week! If for any reason the student will be absent for a longer period, this must be reported to the supervisor.
