課程概述 |
This is a journal club that designed for postgraduate students in Master's Program in Biodiversity and the Institute of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, those who have strong commitment to pursue researches in plant evolution, plant diversity, plant development or pollination ecology. Weekly reading and oral presentations of research topics or scientific journal papers selected from current literature. The design of this course trains you read and summarize journal papers, also to train you to write your MSc thesis proposal.
Topics of this semester include：
Developmental Genetics of Flower symmetry and morphology
Hormone and leaf development
Auxin and flower shape
Techniques for studying gene expression
Tools for studying gene function
Flower color evolution and pollination ecology |

課程目標 |
Student will intensively read papers every week. In the lecture, student will need to present scientific data from primary research articles and/or from students’ own research proposal. |

課程要求 |
Students need to have enough English level to read, summarize scientific papers, report their findings and comment writing. In this way, students learn how to organize papers relating to your thesis to formulate background literature reviews. |
