Rules
(1) Mid-term and final exams are in the format of in-class written test. Only the materials from lectures will be used for the mid-term exam. However, in addition to lectures, all papers presented by students will be included for the final exam.
(2) Papers will be selected by instructors for students to present. The style of presentation must be slick and should be limited within 15 minutes for each person. Well-preparation is required, otherwise the lousy presentation will be stopped by instructors and the score will be “zero” for this part.
(3) The formula of grading follows the principle shown below: mid-term (40%) + final (40%) + presentation (20%).
(4) Handouts will be distributed to students prior to each lecture. Two reference books are recommended for students to read:
(I) “Cancer Biology” by R. W. Ruddon, 3rd edition (1995)
(II) Part 4 in the volume of “The Metabolic and Molecular Bases of Inherited Diseases” by C. R. Scriver et al., 8th edition (2001).
