Course Description

From 2021 autumn onwards, this course will be delivered both in Taiwanese and in English. This class (01) is taught in Taiwanese. For the English course, please refer to its particular class (02). For those have have no knowledge of the Taiwanese language (or Hohlo, Hokkien, Souther Fujian), please consider seriously should you like to take this course. 

Course Objective
1. To gain a basic knowledge of the music of Taiwan and its close relationship to Taiwan history and society
2. To appreciate various musical genres in Taiwan and their historical, political and social contexts, including Aboriginal music, traditional music of the Hohlo and Hakka, pop songs, Western and Chinese music
