課程概述 |
This course aims to provide graduate students across disciplines with instructions in the mechanics of writing academic journal research papers for both their current academic studies and future research careers. Specifically, this course will provide guidance to students who are preparing to write articles for publication, Master’s theses or dissertation projects.
Students will develop advanced writing skills through article analysis, writing tasks, peer review and revision of their own writing, as well as oral presentation of their research projects. This course will focus on a generic style of writing appropriate for academic discourse, the structure of each part of an academic paper, organizational flows as well as textual coherence and cohesion of an academic paper, and evaluative strategies to analyze key features of research articles in their own discipline. Students will also develop oral communication skills for academic purposes.
