課程概述

This course aims to equip you with knowledge and techniques you need to write an academic research paper, primarily through an introduction to features of academic English and to the framework of each part of the paper. You will also learn how to give an effective presentation of your research. 

課程目標
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
1. identify features of academic writing and apply your knowledge of academic writing to organize your ideas into a logical and coherent text;
2. recognize the moves and steps in constructing research papers;
3. critically evaluate and analyze a variety of texts for academic purposes;
4. develop proof-reading and self-editing skills;
5. make effective written and oral presentations of your work. 
課程要求
1. Attendance is required. No more than three excused absences are permitted.

2. Participation in class discussions is required.
3. Writing assignments are carefully scheduled as stages toward the fulfillment of the course’s objectives. Late assignments will be marked down.
