Course Description

THE OPTIONAL COURSE IS SET UP FOR MS STUDENTS WITH 3 CREDITS. THE MISSION OF THE COURSE IS TO INTRODUCE PHARMACOLOGICAL RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF DRUG DISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT. IT USUALLY STARTS FROM 9:00 AM~12:00 PM ON THURSDAY IN THE 2ND SEMESTER.
IN THE LECTURE, WE WILL INTRODUCE R&D HISTORY, NEW DRUG DISCOVERY, PRE-CLINICAL TOXICOLOGY, SAFETY PHARMACOLOGY AND CLINICAL TRIAL; FURTHERMORE, DRUG DESIGN FOR TARGET-DIRECTED THERAPY, EVALUATION BY ANIMAL MODELS, PHARMACODYNAMICS, TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE, AND BIOMARKERS IN CLINICAL TRIAL ARE INCLUDED. FINALLY, TO INSPIRE GRADUATE STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN DRUG R&D AND TRAIN MANAGEMENT, INVITED EXPERTS WILL GIVE A SERIES OF SPEECH ABOUT THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: DRUG PATENT, MARKETING ANALYSIS, NEW DRUG LEGISLATION, AND CLINICAL TRIAL MONITORING AND AUDIT, ETC..
